Lecture
  • Fuel cells - principles of operation. Types of fuel cells, fuels for fuel cells.
  • Preparation of fuel for fuel cells. Methods for hydrogen production. Description of the electrolysis process, principles of operation and efficiency calculation of electrolyzers. Methods of reforming carbon fuels.
  • Materials for fuel cells: ion conductors as electrolytes.
  • Materials for fuel cells: anode and cathode materials.Catalytic processes.
  • Methods of characterization of fuel cells. Properties of fuel cells, current density, efficiency, power, expected life cycle.
  • Applications of fuel cells. Economical and environmental aspects of application of fuel cells. Latest technologies and perspecitves.  
  • Fuel cells as main power source for vehicles.
